It is 65 years since the diary of Anne Frank was first published.

The thoughts and feelings of a young Jewish girl living in hiding in wartime Holland have captivated people ever since.

Before Hitler rose to power in Germany, the Frank family lived in Frankfurt along with other members of the family.

Anne's cousin and playmate Buddy Elias spoke to the BBC World Service Witness programme about their childhood together and why her writing still captivates readers.
