Bus roof torn off in bridge crash in Greater Manchester

A double-decker bus has had its roof ripped off while travelling under a bridge in Greater Manchester.

The Transpeak bus hit the bridge on George's Road in Heaton Norris, Stockport, at about 13:40 BST on Saturday.

There were 10 passengers on board at the time of the crash - six were taken to hospital for treatment.

Chris Mycock, station commander at Stockport Fire Station, said considerable damage had been done to the bus but that the injured had suffered "relatively minor cuts".
