The magic of childhood - a poem for migrant children

The BBC's Focus on Africa programme has commissioned three poets from the African diaspora in the UK to write exclusive poetry on the theme of migration.

Here, we meet 24-year-old British Ugandan Vanessa Kisuule.

She has used the theme of migration to write a poem, called Bedtime Story, for migrant children arriving in the UK.

Using drawings from illustrator Gabi Froden, she wanted to tell tales of magic and wonder, to ensure they are not depicted as characters of misery and despair but as children.
