Blockbuster files for bankruptcy in the US
DVD and games rental company Blockbuster has filed for bankruptcy protection in the US.
The company said it had made the decision as part of attempts to cut its debts and restructure the business.
Its 3,000 stores and kiosks in the US will operate normally while it reorganises its business and its operations in Canada and Europe are unaffected.
The BBC's Juliana Liu reports.
