'Common-sense approach' needed for Health and Safety

The cabinet has accepted the recommendations of a report that aims to reduce health and safety red tape.

The review, by the former Conservative minister Lord Young, highlighted the excessive bureaucracy that teachers and businesses sometimes confront and called for a more "common-sense approach."

David Cameron has said that rules and regulations can get in the way of creating a bigger society while Lord Young said his recommendations would remove much unnecessary form filling.
