Snow prompts increased demand for Land Rovers

The cold weather has triggered a rise in interest in 4x4 vehicles, according to car manufacturer Land Rover.

The firm says it has seen enquiries up by a third and tens of thousands of extra hits on its website as the snow and ice makes road conditions hazardous.

Land Rover currently has a number of vehicles on loan to the emergency services, so they can reach locations inaccessible to normal vehicles.

John Edwards is a brand director for Land Rover and he says the cars are ''increasingly a very good bet''.
