Watch: Why Mexico got a tariff reprieve... and Canada didn't

The US announced fresh tariffs on more than 90 countries after reaching the deadline imposed by President Donald Trump for nations to reach trade deals.

Tariffs on Canada, for example, are set to increase from 25% to 35%, although most Canadian goods are exempt. Meanwhile, higher tariffs for Mexico are paused for another 90 days.

The BBC's Michelle Fleury explains why Mexico has reached a deal - at least temporarily - while Canada has received a blow.
