Ford unveils new electric car model at the Consumer Electronics Show

Car manufacturer Ford has made a surprise appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

It has chosen the event, rather than next week's prestigious car show in Detroit, to unveil its new battery-powered car, the Ford Focus.

Company chief executive Alan Mulally told the BBC's Michelle Fleury about refining the process of going electric.
