Cameron: Cuts 'cannot be put off'

On day three of the World Economic Forum in Davos Prime Minister David Cameron has been giving his views on how to get Europe out of recession.

Cameron told leaders that the rest of Europe can learn from the way Britain is tackling its economic problems.

He said it was important to support new business, new ideas and trade, but insisted the budget deficit must be tackled first through spending cuts.

He also defended the pace of those cuts, saying the deficit was "unsustainable" and it was essential for the government to be cutting borrowing at the same time as seeking to boost economic growth.
