MG rolls off Longbridge production line again

The first MG car has rolled off the production line in Longbridge, marking a new era for large-scale production at the plant.

The demise of Rover in 2005 led to the loss of 6,000 jobs at the factory.

MG is now owned by the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, which is the largest car maker in China.

The MG6, the first new MG for 16 years, is British-designed and assembled at Longbridge from parts made in China.
