Japan's steel makers suffer losses after earthquake and tsunami

Japan's steel makers have been hit by a double whammy of higher raw material costs and weak demand after the earthquake and tsunami.

Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Steel release their earnings later and it is thought they will post a huge drop in their profits.

The country's second largest steel firm JFE reported a 70% fall in quarterly profit last week.
