Mortgage arrears continue to fall, say Council of Mortgage Lenders
Just over 9,000 properties were repossessed in the first three months of this year, which is up 15% compared to the final quarter of last year.
But it is also 10% lower than the same period last year.
According to the Council of Mortgage Lenders the total number of people in arrears with their mortgages continued to fall.
Sue Anderson, from the council, said the important message was that lenders were willing to help customers who find themselves in difficulties.
