Vince Cable: 'Concerns about UK banks'

The business secretary, Vince Cable, has set out a series of tests which he says must be met before he will back the ring-fencing of UK banks.

He said: "The key tests will be: would it stop banks using deposits underwritten by the taxpayer to cross-subsidise their other activities, the so-called 'casinos'?"
