Has Ramadan spending helped Arab economies?

The Muslim month of Ramadan and the run-up to Eid have become an annual opportunity for retailers to ring up profits.

However, just as economies were beginning to improve after the economic downturn, the Arab Spring stalled that recovery for many countries in this region.

So will the spending this Ramadan help get things back on track?
