Will the increase to the minimum wage have an impact?

The minimum wage will be increased on Saturday by 15p an hour, coming to £6.08.

Young adults will also see a rise in their rates with salaries increasing by 6p for 18 to 20-year-olds, by 4p for 16 to 17-year-olds and by 10p for apprentices.

Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire spoke to two listeners, Mike from Northumberland and Cyril in Stoke, who told her how they manage to live on the minimum wage.
