'World events prompt energy price rises'

Phil Bentley said rising oil prices following unrest in the Middle East, and huge demand for gas from Japan in the wake of the Fukushima disaster had contributed to increased energy bills.
Prime Minister David Cameron is to urge gas and electricity companies to do more to cut household bills when he meets representatives from the six biggest suppliers on Monday.
