Lorry drivers face new regulations

New rules for lorry drivers will come into force in 2014 and there are fears that not enough drivers are completing their mandatory training.

In 2009 the EU ruled that all lorry drivers must have a Driver Certification of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).

But according to figures from the Freight Transport Association and Brit Insurance - there is a 46% shortfall in the number of drivers who have taken the test.

James Hookham from the Freight Transport Association says "this could cause problems in supply chains".
