Motorway drives Sri Lankan growth

Infrastructure projects have been a big part of China's investment strategy, both at home and overseas.

Chinese companies and workers have been involved in the building of Sri Lanka's first motorway. The road, which runs from the capital Colombo to the southern town of Galle, has just been completed.

Ranjith Premasiri, Chairman of the Road Development Authority said in the past six years they have built more roads than any other time.

Lakshman Walpitagamage from Galle Chamber of Commerce & Industry, believes it will help lorries carrying perishable good.
