Euro interest rates could be lowered despite inflation

2012 is set to be another year of low interest rates - with the European central bank likely to cut the cost of borrowing even further.

That is despite inflation running well above target, expected to be confirmed on Wednesday when inflation figures are released for the 17 euro area nations.
