CPI Inflation: Do people feel the difference?

Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation in the UK fell to 3.6% in January, down from 4.2% in December, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) but do consumers feel a difference?

Planet Retail's Natalie Berg said despite the fall in inflation, purchasing power is still being eroded amongst consumers.

"If you consider wage growth hasn't kept up with the rate of inflation, for many consumers, they still have less money in their pockets today, than they did a year ago" she added.
