Lib Dem peer calls for Bob Diamond's resignation
Barclays bank has been fined nearly £300 by regulators in Britain and the US after it admitted manipulating the interest rates at which banks lend to each other.
The action, which the Uk's Financial Services Authority said was widespread and carried out over a number of years, enabled individual dealers to make a profit.
The bank's Chief Executive Bob Diamond, and several other senior figures, have said they will not take their bonuses for this year.
The former Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesman, Lord Oakeshott, said Mr Diamond should take full responsibility for his employee's actions.
