Australia worries about growth amid strong currency

Australia's central bank will meet on Tuesday to discuss interest rates amid concerns about what the high value of the Australian dollar means for the local economy.

While rates are expected to remain unchanged a cut would help weaken the currency.

The strong dollar is making many sectors of the Australian economy, such as manufacturing, uncompetitive and with the mining boom slowing, many are worrying about future economic growth.

The BBC's Duncan Kennedy reports.
