Abaya reaches catwalk at London Fashion Week

The abaya may traditionally be the conservative robe worn by women across the Middle East, but this month it was showcased in a less likely setting, the catwalk of London Fashion Week.

The show, by an Emirati clothes company, was the latest example of how the popular Gulf area garment has been breaking into haute couture circles.
