EDF boss says nuclear development 'must be priced fairly'

The chief executive of EDF has said consumers will not have to take the construction risk associated with new nuclear power plants.

Questioned by MPs on the Energy and Climate Change Committee, Vincent de Rivaz said consumers and his company needed safeguards from the government that the finances of future nuclear deals would be "fair".

The company is due to make a decision by the end of the year on its plan to build two new reactors at Hinkley Point in Somerset.
