Honda cuts profit forecast as China - Japan row hits sales

The Japanese carmaker Honda has cut is annual profit forecast after recent anti-Japan protests in China hurt its sales in the country.

Honda's sales is China, its second-largest market, dropped 40% in September.

The firm now expects a net profit of 375bn yen ($4.7bn; £2.9bn) for the financial year ending 31 March 2013. That is down from its earlier projection of 470bn yen.

The BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes in Tokyo says investors will be keen to hear from Honda how it plans to tackle the situation in China.
