China agriculture's 'big growth'

China's agricultural sector is to grow strongly in the coming years, says celebrated US investor Jim Rogers.

Mr Rogers told the BBC's Leisha Chi that while some sectors of the Chinese economy will continue to slow this year, farming will be one that enjoys a boom.

He also predicts that globally, the price of agricultural products will only rise in the years ahead, because of the need for nations such as the US and Japan to attract more young people into the industry.

Regarding wider commodities, Mr Rogers says their prices will also likely rise further this year, as investors continue to buy them at a time when governments risk weakening currencies through their work to boost economic growth.
