World records boost for Middle East

Dubai boasts the world's tallest tower, the world's largest indoor ski slope and will soon be home to the world's biggest Ferris wheel.

But besides landmark buildings there has also been a boom in Middle East record attempts - something that has prompted Guinness World Records to open an office there.

Many are being attempted by companies - but why bother? And to be a record breaker, is dedication really all you need? Or are deep pockets a necessity too?
