Former chancellors Norman Lamont and Alistair Darling gave their assessment of the task facing George Osborne ahead of his Budget.
Lord Lamont was chancellor under John Major in the early 1990s, while Mr Darling served under Gordon Brown as the last Labour chancellor before the 2010 election.
