Budget 2013: 'Delayed boost' for people's finances

The chancellor's budget was broadly welcomed by staff at a call centre in Newcastle.

Workers told the BBC's Steph McGovern that they could benefit from some of the measures announced, such as childcare vouchers and assistance with buying a house, but the effect on their budgets would not be immediate.

Markit economist Chris Williamson also said that the broader changes to the country's finances might not be registered until 2015.
