Trade tops agenda for Mexico's President Japan visit

Trade across the Pacific will be high on the agenda when Japan plays host to Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto on Monday.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to use the visit to kick off his diplomatic campaign for Japan to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Japan needs approval from all of the other TPP member states, before it can proceed with any discussion about joining the trade alliance. Mexico joined the TPP last year.
