Uniqlo opens two stores in Bangladesh
Many of the world's biggest fashion chains have suppliers in Bangladesh but none have opened shops there until now.
Fashion retailer Uniqlo, owned by Japan's Fast Retailing, has opened two stores in Dhaka.
Uniqlo has been criticised for not joining a global safety pact for factories, drawn up after April's disaster at the Rana Plaza complex, in a suburb north of Dhaka.
Given that criticism, industry watchers are keen to see how Uniqlo's stores perform.
