Eurozone emerges from recession

The eurozone has emerged from recession after a record 18 months of contraction.

Total economic output grew by 0.3% in the second quarter of 2013, slightly ahead of forecasts.

The figure masks the mixed economic picture across the zone.

Whilst Germany, France and Portugal have seen their economies expand, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands saw their economic output fall.

Matthew Price reports from Aachen in Germany.
