Egypt clashes raise energy fears

Egypt has declared a month-long state of emergency after more than 200 people were killed in violent clashes.

Clashes had spread as far as the province of Suez, which holds one of the world's most important waterways.

Concerns are rising that further instability in Egypt could affect the operations of the Suez Canal, which is a crucial trade route for Asia and transports oil from the Middle East.

Rico Hizon spoke to Rajiv Biswas, Asia Pacific chief economist at consultancy firm IHS about the potential impact.
