Employers to be 'named and shamed' for underpaying staff

Employers who fail to pay their staff the minimum wage could soon be publicly named and shamed, under changes being announced by the government.

In the past financial year alone, more than 730 employers underpaid their staff.

The minimum wage is currently £6.19 but it will go up by 2% to £6.31 in October.

Employment Relations Minister Jo Swinson is hoping the tactic will deter employers from exploiting their staff.
