Entrepreneur festival brings global talent to UK

The UK is looking to lure entrepreneurs from across the globe with its Sirius Programme, which launched on Thursday at a festival in Manchester.

Students and recent graduates with an early stage business plan will receive £12,000 investment, expert advice and help with the logistics of moving to the UK.

Divya Sharma told BBC Breakfast why she had come from India: "This is the financial hub of the world. Being a girl it's very hard to become an entrepreneur... Here, at least you have an equal chance."

Cobra beer founder Lord Karan Bilimoria, who is helping the government drive, said, "I found this country's environment fantastic, I saw the glass ceiling that existed absolutely shattered before my eyes. People don't realise what a great country this is to do business."
