Does hosting the Olympics help boost the economy?

Tomorrow evening in Buenos Aires the International Olympic Committee will announce which city will host the 2020 summer games.

The three candidate cities are Istanbul, Madrid and Tokyo.

Hosting the Olympic Games can give a big boost to the economy but the cost of building venues, transport links and accommodation can easily spiral out of control.

So does it make business sense?
