Jaguar Land Rover jobs 'huge commitment' to UK

Car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover is creating 1700 jobs at its Solihull factory, where the workforce will be developing new lightweight models made of aluminium.

It is part of a £1.5bn investment the firm is making to expand its product range.

Dr Ralph Speth, the Chief Executive of Jaguar Land Rover, told the Today programme: "We are going to hire another 1,700 employees, that's a huge commitment to the UK but also shows the strength of the brand Jaguar."
