Smaller independent retailers 'must engage online'

A website that allows smaller independent retailers get online and create a web presence has been launched.

Myhigh.st, which has been piloted in south west England for 12 months, enables small retailers to sell online in return for a percentage of their internet sales.

It is hoped that web users will be encouraged to visit independent shops in person after browsing through their products online.

Tim Lewis, Co founder of Myhigh.st, told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "They need to engage with the internet, not try to fight against it, and that's what we're trying to help them to do."
