Manuel: Economic inequality still a 'big problem' in SA

Nelson Mandela may have laid the foundations for a new South Africa, but Trevor Manuel is credited as laying the building blocks for the post-apartheid economy.

He served as finance minister in Mandela's government through to 2009 - and now heads up the National Planning Commission.

He told the BBC's Karen Allen that economic inequality was still a "big problem" - especially among the black population.
