Dawsons Music reports record Christmas sales

Retailer Dawsons Music has reported record breaking Christmas sales.

The high street musical instrument shop, established in 1898, said it had experienced the best November and December sales since opening.

Dawsons Managing Director, Mark Taylor, believes this could be partly due to the growing number of older people wanting to take up an instrument.

Mr Taylor told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money: "Our secondary primary group is people that are... around the middle aged mark and people that are rediscovering music."
