Ex-M&S boss Stuart Rose on the Christmas winners and losers

Retailers must expand their online presence to ensure they don't lose customers, the former head of Marks and Spencer has said.

Sir Stuart Rose told the BBC there had been an "exponential movement" towards internet shopping. M&S has reported a drop in sales in its clothes division while both Morrisons and Tesco also reported disappointed results for the important Christmas period

"If you can't provide those customers with the services and goods they want, in the way they want them then you're going to be a loser," he added.
