Detroit motor show: Fiat-Chrysler boss hails turnaround

Sergio Marchionne, the boss of both Fiat and Chrysler, has hailed the turnaround in the US car industry since the crisis of 2008.

Speaking at the Detroit motor show, Mr Marchionne said the 2007 and 2008 shows had "the stench of death" about them.

But now, he said, it was "a completely different world".

Mr Marchionne has been praised for leading Chrysler through restructuring following its bankruptcy in 2009.
