BP expect 'enormous improvements' in energy efficiency

Oil giant BP has published its big picture outlook for energy over the next 20 years.

The company's chief economist Christof Rühl told the Today programme's Simon Jack that he expects to see "enormous efficiency improvements" in energy usage over the next two decades.

He noted, however, that carbon emissions are "growing way too fast", a trend which he expects to continue.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday 16 January 2014.
