IMF increases UK growth forecast

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has sharply increased its growth forecast for the UK, saying its economy will grow faster than any other in Europe this year.

The British economy is now expected to grow 2.4%, against a previous forecast of 1.9% - and in 2015, the IMF expects growth of 2.2%.

The Treasury said the new UK forecast was further evidence that the government's economic plan was working.

Robert Peston reports.
