IMF figures show 'UK economic plan working'

The International Monetary Fund has upgraded its economic forecast for Britain, despite downgrading its forecast for global growth.

The IMF had said there would be growth here of 0.9% this year but has increased that to 1.4%.

In 2014, the IMF says the economy will grow by 1.9%.

Chancellor George Osborne said the figures showed the government's economic strategy was working.
