Osborne: GDP figures are boost for economic security

Chancellor George Osborne has welcomed the latest GDP figures as "more evidence that our long-term economic plan is working".

The UK economy grew by 1.9% in 2013, its strongest rate since 2007, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Mr Osborne told MPs in the House of Commons that; "These numbers are a boost for the economic security of hard working people".
