ONS analyses decrease in inflation to 1.9% in January

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has analysed the decrease in UK inflation, which fell to 1.9% in January.

The rate fell below the Bank of England's 2% target for the first time in more than four years.

Phil Gooding from the ONS said the factors came from three main areas - recreation and culture, furniture and household goods, and alcohol and tobacco.
