ONS: Number of self-employed people reaches record high

Nick Palmer from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has been giving a breakdown of its latest unemployment estimates.

The number of people out of work in the UK fell by 125,000 to 2.34 million in the three months to December, with the rate now standing at 7.2%.

Mr Palmer said that while employment was up among both older and younger workers, the largest proportion of the increase was among self-employed people.
