RBS chief executive: £8.2bn losses 'very sobering'

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has reported a pre-tax loss for 2013 of £8.2bn.

The bank's chief executive Ross McEwan told the Today programme that the results were "very sobering".

Mr McEwan also outlined plans to begin "simplifying" the bank's operations and "rebuild the trust" of its customers by "refocusing" on the UK.
