'Can't wait for action over energy' - Flint

There is to be a major investigation into the UK's "big six" energy suppliers, amid concerns over the cost of gas and electricity bills.

Energy watchdog Ofgem has been looking at how well the firms are competing against one another and has decided to refer the issue to a new regulator, the Competition and Markets Authority.

But Shadow Energy Secretary Caroline Flint is worried the inquiry - which could last up to two years - will simply delay tougher action.
